A leading secondary school in the creative hub of Frome is searching for a dedicated School Caretaker. The Snapshot
Location: Frome Somerset (Easy access from Bath Trowbridge and Warminster)
Salary: Competitive (Somerset County Council Grade)
Contract: Full-time Permanent
Benefit: Potential for on-site accommodation (subject to availability).
Detailed Responsibilities
Site Security & Compliance: You will be the eyes and ears of the school. Beyond opening and closing the gates you will manage our health and safety logs ensuring COSHH records are up to date and that water hygiene (Legionella) checks are performed meticulously.
Resource Coordination: Our school is a busy environment with frequent assemblies theatre productions and sporting events. You will lead the porterage team in setting up specialized equipment ensuring the seating is safe and the site remains accessible for those with mobility needs.
Contractor Management: When larger projects occursuch as roof repairs or boiler replacementsyou will be the primary point of contact ensuring contractors work safely and do not disrupt the learning environment.
Environmental Stewardship: In line with Fromes green initiatives you will help manage our recycling programs and look for ways to improve the energy efficiency of the school buildings.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a proactive professional with experience in site management or a related field. You should be comfortable working at heights and in all weather conditions. Because this is a key-holder position living within a 20-minute commute of Frome is highly preferred.
