Job Summary

As a Data Engineer you will shape the development and evolution of our cloud-based data and analytics platform. You take a holistic view of data from integration and modeling to analytical usage and apply it in the context of real business processes.

You enable data-driven decisions along supply chain logistics and finance processes. We process millions of mission-critical documents and data annually (e.g. orders deliveries invoices payments) across thousands of companies. With our FXM platform you enable data-driven decisions along supply chain logistics and finance processes.

Your Role

  • Develop and enhance our Azure-based data platform from the data lake to the analytical frontend.
  • Design implement and operate data pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory Synapse Pipelines or comparable orchestration tools.
  • Process large-scale data using Databricks / Apache Spark (PySpark) or similar big data frameworks.
  • Work with cloud data lakes / object storage (e.g. Azure Data Lake S3 GCS) including security and access models.
  • Model analytical data structures (e.g. dimensional models or Data Vault).
  • Deliver reports and analytical models via BI and analytics tools such as Power BI Tableau or similar solutions.
  • Ensure data quality consistency performance and governance.
  • Integrate internal and external systems including B2B and EDI data flows.
  • Collaborate closely in cross-functional teams up to the executive level.
  • With growing experience take responsibility for architecture decisions technical guidelines and sustainable end-to-end solutions.

Your Profile

  • Several years of professional experience (3 years) as a Data Engineer or in a comparable role.
  • Experience in cloud environments ideally Microsoft Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with data and analytics technologies.
  • Strong SQL skills including complex joins window functions and performance optimization.
  • Experience building analytical data models for reporting and analytics.
  • Experience with semantic models and performance optimization in BI environments.
  • Familiarity with business domains.
  • Experience with B2B/EDI integrations.
  • Excellent English (B2) and good German skills (B1) desirable.
