Starrycare is seeking an experienced and dynamic Clinical Lead Mental Health Nurse to provide expert clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality mental health care in a prison setting. The post holder will lead on complex assessments care planning risk management and service development while ensuring safe evidence-based and recovery-focused care in line with professional and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the assessment planning and delivery of mental health care
Provide clinical and managerial supervision to nursing staff
Manage complex cases and support risk assessment processes (including ACCT/CPA)
Promote recovery-focused person-centred care
Ensure compliance with NMC standards and clinical governance requirements
Contribute to service development audit and quality improvement
Work collaboratively with prison staff psychiatrists and external agencies
Maintain accurate electronic patient records
Requirements
Registered Mental Health Nurse (NMC Registered)
Degree in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent
Significant post-registration experience (Band 6 or equivalent)
Experience providing clinical supervision and leadership
Strong knowledge of clinical governance and risk management
Non-Medical Prescribing qualification (desirable or willingness to undertake)
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to work autonomously in a secure environment
