Plant Overview:

  • Non-union plant employing 280 employees across 3 shifts.
  • Purchased in 1934 from Breyers Ice Cream and began producing caramel in 1935.
  • Began producing Marshmallows and Marshmallow Crème in 1961 and Marbits (think dehydrated marshmallows found in cereal) in 1979.
  • Kendallville is the sole producer of all our product lines.

Community Overview:

  • Kendallville is located about 30 minutes north of Fort Wayne and offers a small-town community.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Troubleshoot repair and maintain equipment as needed associated with the building production and utilities.
  • Coordinate with production to address any corrective maintenance required on assigned equipment to ensure optimum line efficiency and product quality.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections on all production building and utilities equipment as assigned.
  • Participate in the development of documented preventive maintenance plan.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement on equipment and system design.
  • Analyze equipment failures and recommend/implement corrective actions.
  • Communicate with maintenance personnel on other shifts as necessary to ensure coordination of maintenance efforts on assigned equipment.
  • Work cross functionally as a member of the operations team.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Team Leader.

Qualifications:

  • Maintenance training/degree and experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Self-motivated and strong drive for results.
  • Use simple mathematics.
  • Lift 50 pounds.
  • Able to climb a ladder.
  • Able to work in areas that contain dust and starch particles.
  • Able to work in hot and humid conditions.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing and/or food processing quality standards hygiene work safety etc. preferred.

  • Pay: $32.70-$33.85/hour
