Certifications Licenses or Registration Required:
Medical Radiologic Technologist license from the Mississippi State Department of Health within the applicable time frame. Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association required post-hire within 90 days. Certification in at least two (2) of the primary modalities in Radiologic Technology (Including Radiography Radiation Therapy Mammography Sonography Magnetic Resonance Imaging or Nuclear Medicine Technology) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of computerized tomography exam procedures. Knowledge of anatomy physiology radiation physics and protection and the principles of imaging. Skill in the use of imaging equipment. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Ability to comply with radiation protection practices. Ability to alleviate patient anxiety.
