Job Summary

The essential functions include but are not limited to the following duties listed below.   • Services inspects and repairs aircraft in accordance with manufacturers data and 14 CFR Part 91 and 43. Complete all tasks as required by the 14 CFR 145 CRS.
  • Reads interprets and complies with technical data including Service Instructions Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives as directed by the manufacturer or Airworthiness Authority
  • Installs maintains and repairs aircraft electronic systems including radios navigation radar and autopilot ensuring safe flight operations by troubleshooting issues reading complex diagrams and adhering to strict aviation regulations (FAA/manufacturer).Key duties involve completing diagnostics performing repairs with precision tools updating software and meticulously documenting all maintenance completed on aircraft & equipment.
  • Contacts OEM technical representatives and suppliers for technical assistance
  • Repairs and replaces defective aircraft components and complete functional checks of components
  • Records maintenance actions on aircraft engine and component records forms tags and other applicable documents according to company and Airworthiness Authority requirements.
  • Performs related duties as required including flying on maintenance functional check flights
  • Able to work any assigned shift or schedule including mission support outside normal duty hours and travel as required to support mission requirements
  • The incumbent performs other job-related tasks as assigned and required; any duties/tasks included in the employees performance evaluation elements are essential to that employees position within the job classification.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent - required
  • Two-year technical trade school military experience or equivalent on-the-job training - required
  • A valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) PREFERRED
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience on small to medium fixed-wing and light & medium helicopters.
  • Experience shall be in a similar position within the last twelve (12) months.

Knowledge SKILLS ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:

The following are required:

  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance support for various fixed-wing and rotor-wing aircraft (e.g. Cessna 206 & 208 Beechcraft King Air 300 series airplanes and Bell 407/412 helicopters)
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance support for medium cargo/commuter type aircraft (e.g. ATR 42 ATR 72 or Dash 8)
  • Demonstrated experience with flight deck avionics suites (e.g. Garmin G500 G1000 & Honeywell)
  • Possess tools required to complete a variety of maintenance tasks of systems installed on aircraft listed in above paragraphs
  • Knowledge to use hand tools power tools machines and test equipment to complete repairs and functional testing on navigation communication and electrical systems installed in the aircraft and equipment on the bench.
  • Complete checks related to 14 CFR Part 91.411 & 91.413 and documenting in aircraft records.
  • Proficiency in reading complexwiring diagrams schematics manufacturers maintenance manuals and blueprints.
  • Ability to retain information and make decisions according to standard policies and procedures
  • Ability to determine work methods to accomplish assignments
  • Working knowledge of applicable FAA Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Ability to make proper entries in aircraft logs and records
  • Obtain and possess DOJ Clearance as required
  • Have and maintain a valid drivers license
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time on an on-demand basis.
  • Possess and maintain a valid US Passport and the appropriate vaccinations required for international travel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee works in an aircraft hangar most of the shift and is required to stand; walk stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms as well as push and pull items. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly.

Normal day-to-day working conditions are inside an aircraft hangar with good ventilation and airflow. Work may be regularly required in outside-weather conditions where the employee will be exposed to all types of environmental conditions and extremes such as hot cold rain wind etc. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts fumes or airborne particles and risks of electrical shock. The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment including eye protection ear protection hand protection respirators masks aprons leather safety shoes steel toe shoes fall protection harness and other equipment anytime the potential for hazards exists. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places confined spaces toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of radiation; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
