The Academic Advisor in the College of Health Professions and Sciences (CHPS) engages students indecision making processes and promotesappropriateand responsible choices on academic matters such as course selection degree requirements and academic pathways.Maintainsappropriate confidentiality updates studentadvisingrecords and contributes to thedevelopment and delivery ofacademicadvisingrelated events and programs.The Academic Advisor works to ensure studentsinterested in nursingreceiveaccuratetimely andholistic advising services in support of promoting student success retention and program completion.Strives to create a welcomingequitable and inclusive work environment.
All CHPS academic advisorsparticipatein New StudentOrientationPanther Transition Experience whichoccurin both summer and December/January advising all CHPS incoming students in an in-person format.
This position requires some work to be performed in-person onsite at a designated campus work location.Hybrid work options(minimum of 3 business days on campus each week)may be available with specificsregardingwork location requirements discussed during the interview process.This position isto occasionally support programming during evenings and weekends.
The target hiring range is$55000-$60000per year.Final salaryofferscontingent upon skills knowledge and abilitiesasdemonstratedthroughout the selection process.
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution (degree must be granted by date of hire).
1-2yearsof relevant work experience.
Evidence of excellent written communication skills and attention to detail (based on evaluation ofsubmittedapplication materials).
Masters Degree in Higher Education Student Development or related field.
3yearsofrelevant work experience in academic advising.
Experience working on a team to createimplementor deliver projects or programming.
Knowledge of academic advisingsoftware (ex:Navigate360 Oracle Peoplesoft SlateStellic).
Experience with academic planning career development and/orretention initiatives.
