Job Summary

The ABA Coordinator will engage in a wide range of activities focusing on providing coaching and mentorship to fellow behavior technicians. Ideal candidates will be able to assist in the advancement of ABA services within the clinic as well as execute MetroEHSs collaborative model with Speech/Occupational/Physical Therapists.

Your Impact

As an ABA Coordinator at MetroEHS Pediatric Therapy you will:

  • Complete new hire technician training
  • Communicate training progress with team including problem solving any barriers that arise
  • Provide ongoing support for behavior technicians
  • Conduct fidelity and interobserver agreement (IOA) checks on behavior technicians monthly. Report progress and barriers to appropriate members of clinical team
  • Hold RBT study sessions for technicians preparing to take RBT exam
  • Assist technicians in obtaining RBT certification within first 90 days of employment
  • Assist ABA Manger with annual RBT competency evaluations
  • Provide feedback to ABA Manager/BCBA for behavior technician annual performance reviews
  • Maintain monthly RBT supervision logs for all RBTs in clinic
  • Maintain all mandatory core certifications (RBT) and all licenses/certifications
  • Review of BT/RBT session notes prior to check out for clinical content and accuracy
  • Be able to receive technician call offs and communicate with support staff that absence is occurring
  • Line therapy coverage of staff absences coverage of shifts and/or starting new clients until new technician is hired
  • Attend and participate in all ABA staff meetings
  • Attend and participate in clinic Coordination of Care meetings when possible
  • Assist with opening and closing the center as assigned
  • Materials prep when requested by ABA Manager/BCBAs
  • Training client IPOS quarterly and as needed be assigned trainer for DWHIN and Oakland County IPOS
  • Monitoring unsigned notes. Be point of contact for billing department for note issues
  • In conjunction with support staff complete quarterly Raintree and County EMR Chart audits to make sure all necessary client documentation is present

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification

  • Preferred current enrollment in Verified Course Sequence as identified by ABAI as suitable for BCBA certification

  • At least 2 years of experience in the field of applied behavior analysis

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Prolonged Sitting and Desk Work: Remaining seated for extended periods (up to 6 hours per day) while performing computer-based tasks filing scheduling and data entry.
  • Frequent Computer Use & Fine Motor Skills: Continuous use of keyboards mice and other office equipment; tasks require precise finger dexterity for typing filing and handling small office supplies.
  • Visual Acuity Requirements: Ability to read printed materials and computer screens for data entry document review and patient records.
  • Telephone & Verbal Communication: Constant phone interaction; clear speech and active listening are essential for scheduling appointments addressing inquiries and coordinating with clinical staff.
  • Light to Moderate Lifting: Lifting and carrying office supplies paper reams (up to 20 lbs) patient folders small equipment or mail bins; occasional need to move office furniture or equipment.
  • Mobility within Facility: Walking between offices therapy rooms and other areas; negotiating stairs or uneven flooring; ability to navigate a busy sometimes crowded reception area.
  • Stressful or Fast-Paced Environment: Managing multiple administrative tasks and patient needs concurrently; ability to prioritize under pressure and maintain composure during peak periods.
  • Shared Workspace & Open Office Setting: Working in cubicles or open-plan areas which may include background noise from phones printers or conversations.
  • Exposure to Common Office Hazards: Potential for paper cuts minor repetitive strain injuries (e.g. carpal tunnel) and ergonomic risksrequires adherence to proper workstation setup and occasional use of ergonomic aids.
  • Compliance with Infection Control Practices: Regular hand hygiene occasional use of gloves or masks when handling patient documents or escorting patients and adherence to office sanitization protocols.
  • When interacting and assisting with clients:
    • Active & Engaged Work Kneeling bending and playing at ground level.
    • Hands-On Support Lifting up to 50 lbs may be required.
    • Quick Reflexes Ability to respond to behaviors such as elopement (running away) or aggressive actions.
    • Loud or Noisy Environments Working with active children in dynamic settings.
    • Potential Exposure to Bodily Fluids Assisting with hygiene or accidental incidents.

  • $22-$25/hour commensurate with experience and qualifications
