The Senior Sonographer proficiently operates imaging equipment and software mostly ultrasound equipment to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Responsibilities include serving as a lead when direct leadership is unavailable serving as a resource and assisting in training. The Senior Sonographer requires proficiency and thorough understanding of operating imaging equipment and procedures while ensuring patient safety and maintaining imaging standards. Effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals is essential for providing optimal care.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours

Experience: 2 years of relevant experience

License: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.

Certifications/Registries: ARDMS/ARRT/CCI and 4 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area OR 2 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area and 7 years of applicable experience; Basic Life Support (BLS)

In the state of Arkansas ARDMS certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) OR ARRT certification in Vascular Sonography (VS) is required

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Proficiency in operating imaging equipment.

  • Knowledge of quality assurance protocols and accreditation standards.

  • Knowledge of a variety of advanced procedures

Physical Requirements:

Position requires the ability to push pull and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.

Position requires the ability to grip reach bend kneel twist and squat to perform duties.
