About the Role
This position is within HARMANs Lifestyle Automotive Engineering department. The primary responsibility is to create system design and architecture for Car Audio Systems.
The System Architecture team is looking for the ultimate team player with positive and constructive Successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of accomplishment of success with audio systems architecture and customer facing interaction.
What You Will Do
- Create System Design and Architecture on mid to high complex Systems Platforms and modules for Car Audio Systems from basic idea up to product launch
- Technical lead on development of platform and OEM specific car audio amplifier ECUs
- Lead and steer the technical architecture team (HW SW ME) to ensure feasible and cost optimized product design
- Engage with OEMs and customer teams guiding them on Harman audio system solutions matching the OEM vehicle architecture
- Perform technical presentations directly with OEMs
- System definition based on analysis of customer requirements in RFQ phase
- Train and guide System Engineers
- Generating detailed System block diagram under consideration of best BOM cost low power consumption thermal design constraints and environmental conditions.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge of current and future technologies methods and tools related to system engineering and system architecture.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Master or Bachelors degree with appropriate software/hardware and embedded system working knowledge
- 10 Years experience in OEM automotive product design (audio systems preferred)
- Vehicle communication bus experience CAN Ethernet A2B
- Onboard communication busses such as I2C (O Q)SPI TDM UART
- Hardware & Software development debugging and validation experience
- In-Depth understanding of the automotive product design and development process
- Solid background in using development tools for requirements management and system design
- Ability to communicate architecture concepts and ideas persuasively and concisely to all levels of the business
- Good written and verbal communication in English
- Flexible in terms of tasks and responsibility
- Ability to build relations and work independently
- Self-motivated passionate about audio and high sense of responsibility
Bonus Points if You Have
- Experience with Enterprise Architect - EA
- Experience with DOORS Next gen - DNG
- Hands-on system debug experience
- Embedded system design experience or familiarity
- Embedded system software development in C/C and model-based familiarity
- Experience working with automotive OEM in an embedded system development
- TS16949 and other quality tools (PPAPAPQPMSASPCDFMEA) familiarity desired
