Head of Secondary

We are seeking an experienced inspirational and self-motivated Head of Secondary to drive the Secondary School forward with vision ambition and heart.

You will provide strategic educational and operational leadership across the Secondary phase fostering a positive high-performing learning culture where both students and staff can thrive.

As a key member of the senior leadership team the role includes leading academic pastoral and organisational practice empowering and developing staff and working in close partnership with students parents and the wider school community to ensure consistently high standards and outstanding learning experiences.

This role calls for a forward-thinking leader who is ready to shape learning for the future inspire excellence and lead with clarity integrity and optimism.

Key Responsibilities:

Educational Leadership:

Provide visionary leadership to the Middle and High School faculty and staff.

Foster a collaborative and inclusive school culture that promotes academic excellence and student well-being.

Actively promote and participate in Globeducate and ICS events and initiatives.

Curriculum Development:

Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of the IB IB DP and IGCSE curriculum.

Collaborate with teachers and curriculum coordinators to ensure alignment with international educational standards.

Student Safeguarding and Welfare:

Review educate and ensure implementation of all school policies specifically those related to safeguarding and parent-student handbooks.

Prioritise the well-being of students creating a safe and supportive learning environment.

Implement effective student support services and initiatives to address individual needs.

Staff Development:

Lead professional development opportunities to enhance teachers skills and knowledge of the IB and IGCSE curriculum.

Conduct regular evaluations to ensure high-quality teaching practices.

Hold regular MHS leadership meetings with SLT HoDs and staff.

Assist the Head of School in recruitment process for MHS teaching staff.

Parent and Community Engagement:

Cultivate positive relationships with parents fostering open communication and collaboration.

Engage with the local and international community to enhance the schools reputation and partnerships.

Serve as the primary liaison between the school and families of middle and high school students.

Foster positive relationships with parents addressing concerns and providing timely and transparent communication.

Organise and conduct regular parent meetings keeping families informed about academic programs student progress and school events.

Collaborate with the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) to enhance parental involvement in school activities.

Implement effective communication channels such as newsletters to keep families informed about school policies events and initiatives.

Actively listen to feedback from parents and work collaboratively with them to enhance the overall school experience for students.

Qualifications:

Masters degree in Education or a related field.

Significant senior leadership experience in a middle and/or high school setting.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) IB Diploma Programme (DP) and IGCSE curriculum.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
