Under the supervision of an RN (Registered Nurse) or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) provides close observation of patients. Assists in the provision of a safe and clean environment. Promotes the therapeutic environment and the efficiency of the nursing team. Can provide safe patient transport throughout the facility as directed. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission values and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

As aCare Companion you will play a vital role in supporting patient safety and comfort under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Responsibilities include assisting patients with basic needs such as transporting walking to the bathroom ordering meals and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

You will provide continuous observation communicate patient behavior and safety concerns to the care team and help uphold infection prevention and safety standards. Cell-Phones would not be permitted to be used during this time.

Pay Rate:$15/hour

Scheduling:

  • Minimum of 12 hours per month

  • Self-scheduling

  • Options for 4 8 or 12-hour shifts

  • Rotating weekends and holidays

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma G.E.D CNA/CPCT certification or enrolled in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum and/or a current co-worker of Mercy.
Other: Working conditions mental and physical requirements: Ability to sit for long periods of time remaining alert without distractions from personal business or other personal diversions. Occasional standing and walking.
