Essential Functions:
- Ensures safe clean and well-maintained cemetery grounds and facilities.
- Performs marketing activities sales burials and perpetual care activities.
- Personally contributes to the completion of select maintenance activities through the safe and proper use of various tools and equipment and by spot problem solving and trouble shooting.
- Makes the most efficient and effective use of resources through staff development; planning scheduling and directing work unit; allocating equipment resources and materials; and by developing and implementing loss control strategies.
- Contributes to improvements in policies and procedures by identifying needs; recommending new systems methods and equipment and by making budget requests.
- Works as an effective part of a City-team by responding to change and special needs with flexibility and in a positive manner and by taking initiative to resolve conflicts with others independently.
- Communicates information internally and to the public.
- Monitors maintains and updates records and responds to requests in an accurate professional and timely manner.
- Maintains dialogue and professional working relationships with the public funeral directors special interest groups and City staff by employing effective interpersonal skills.
- Assists in completion of winter work schedule activities and contributes to the completion of other assigned work by performing various maintenance tasks as directed.

Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors Degree or higher in Park Management or related field required.
Experience:
- 4 years increasingly responsible experience in park maintenance and/or cemetery operations including equipment operations pump station operation and maintenance computer knowledge and turf care required.
- Training in cemetery operations and records management highly preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and or experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year for year basis.
Certifications:
- Possession of a State of Colorado Pesticide Applicators Qualified Supervisor License required or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire.
- Must possess a valid drivers license.
- Confined Space Certification or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise employees and to plan schedule and coordinate sales burials select maintenance activities and project completion.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally using telephones and computers.
- Ability to use a computer for documenting inspections writing reports and electronic communications.
- Must possess the ability to budget control costs and prepare reports using math principles.
- Must possess the ability to provide a high level of customer service both internal and external.
- Ability to walk throughout cemetery to visually identify needed work and to inspect work results.
- Sound technical knowledge encompassing all aspects of cemetery maintenance operation.
