Job Description
WPSU is seeking a parttimeEvents & Education Assistantto support the planning preparation and execution of community events workshops and educational initiatives. This position is well suited for an energetic serviceoriented individual particularly someone with a background in teaching who enjoys handson work and engaging with the public.
The Events & Education Assistant will work closely with the Events and Education team to prepare materials organize supplies and assist with event logistics both on-site and at community locations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with event setup and breakdown including arranging tables chairs signage and materials
- Support event coordinators during events workshops and outreach activities
- Track event details and maintain supply inventories
- Prepare materials kits and resources for educational programs
- Complete administrative tasks related to event planning and documentation
- Collaborate with team members and take initiative in a fastpaced environment
Requirements
- Ability to lift and move boxes up to25 pounds; with or without accommodations
- Availability forevening and weekend events
- Ability to worktwo partial weekdayson-site in the Outreach Building
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to be an active engaged member of the Events and Education team
- Comfort with handson physical tasks and dynamic event environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in education community engagement or youth/family programming
- Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for working with diverse audiences
- Ability to adapt quickly and contribute ideas to improve event experiences
