Your responsibilities
The Innovation to Market unit at EIT Health designs and delivers a high-impact portfolio of funding programmes and support services that accelerate the development and market entry of innovative healthcare solutions contributing to the transformation of healthcare systems across Europe. The unit serves a diverse ecosystem including start-upsestablishedhealthcare companies hospitals and medical research institutions.
EIT Health is seeking anInnovation Managerto contribute to the design and delivery of programmes that fund and support the development validation and commercialisation of innovative healthcare solutions and technologies. Reporting to the Head of Innovation to Market you will manage one or two programmes withpre-defined focus areas(e.g. in terms of innovation stage healthcare applications target audience)and oversee a portfolio of EIT Health-backed projects and ventures.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in innovation or acceleration programmespreferably in healthcarealong with a strong interest in early-stage ventures and deep technology trends. You will thrive in a remote-first fast-paced environment that values initiative adaptability and cross-functional collaboration.
Programme Management:
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of Innovation Programmes from conceptualisation and planning aligned with EIT Healths Strategic Agenda to Call design projectselection contracting and active portfolio management.
- Lead the promotion of programmes through targeted outreach webinars events and communications acting as a primary point of contact for applicants and supporting the conversion of leads into high-quality proposals.
- Coordinate evaluation and funding award processes including eligibility checks expert assessments and due diligence in line with EIT Healths evaluation standards and financial sustainability criteria.
- Capture insights and lessons learned through structured reviews contributing to continuous improvement of programme design and execution.
Project Portfolio Management:
- Coordinate onboarding and contracting processes to enabletimelyproject start-up.
- Serve as the main point of contact for funded projectsmonitoringprogressanticipatingrisks addressing execution challenges and escalating issues to the Head of Unit when.
- Manage ongoing monitoring and reporting processesparticipatingin regular project reviewmeetingsand tracking KPIs at portfolio level.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth grant and project management processes.
- Provide tailored advisory support to projects connecting them with relevant EIT Health EIT and European ecosystem opportunities.
- Support post-funding monitoring of completed projects.
Thought Leadership & Team Collaboration
- Contribute to shared tools best practices and portfolio-level initiatives within the Innovation to Market team.
- Support dissemination and visibility activities including success stories publications and award nominations.
- Contribute input to reporting strategic positioning and business planning for EIT Health informed by programme and portfolio insights.
Your skills & knowledge
- Masters degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Business Health Economics Innovation Management Biomedical sciences).
- At least 5 years of professional experience in technology and innovationgained within a company consultancy fund or publicprivate organisation with a strong understanding of product development emerging technologies and the European start-up and scale-up ecosystem.
- Proven ability to manage complex multi-stakeholder programmes or initiatives with excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with grant funding processes and European research and innovation funding mechanisms is a strong asset.
- Solid understanding of healthcare innovation ecosystems includingkey stakeholdersregulatory environments business models and health technology trends; a medical or clinical background is notbut can be an asset.
- Strong critical thinking and learning mindset with the ability to question assumptionsidentifyimprovement opportunities and contribute constructively to strategic discussions.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills in both internal and external contexts.
- Comfortable working in an agile remote-first and evolving environment.
- Full professional fluency in English written and spoken.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Europe up to once per quarter on average.
