Purpose:

Leads and coordinates activities of one or more engineering programs within operations in support to production and / or in the development of new products for the Business Units. These programs can include Manufacturing / Process Engineering Industrial Engineering Engineering Systems Transfer processes Technology Development Tooling (Design Fabrication Assembly Procurement and Calibration) and Plant / Equipment maintenance. Administers and works on problems of different reaches in which the data analysis requires the evaluation of the identifiable factors; selects methods and techniques for the solution of problems. Leads and coordinates engineering through subordinate engineers and technicians to reach the production goals / NPI consistent with costs high quality profitability and delivery times. Interacts with the process of Development of New Products to generate processes and introduce plans for the new products. Provides direction and adapts the tests and recommends changes to the processes and designs. Directs coordinates and performs the principles of Project Management methods tools and techniques for effective planning programs; organizes controls integrates and finishes projects within the required scope and time whether performing the activities personally or through his/her subordinates. Individually he/she must demonstrate creativity prevision and ability to issue judgments anticipate and solve problems generate programs to obtain goals / requirements organization / leadership in projects and develop standards and guides for technical activities. If CSS Position: This position will have responsibilities across ETHICON and Cardiovascular and Specialty Solution (CSS) Companies Johnson and Johnson Family of Companies) including a span of multiple product platforms such as General Surgical Devices Sutures ENT Infection Prevention Electrophysiology and Surgical and Non-Surgical Aesthetics.

You will be responsible for: Under general direction and in accordance with all applicable federal state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson procedures and guidelines this position:

Receives essentially administrative supervision with responsibilities given in terms of the goals and general limits of the organization.

Has been totally assigned technical and administrative responsibilities to interpret organize execute and coordinate his/her activities.

Establishes operational goals and objectives in order to reach the goals and strategies of the organization.

Prepares the programming of projects and coordinates engineering activities to ensure receiving the specifications as well as the corporate goals and objectives.

Plans and develops projects (engineering process development maintenance system operations transfer costs improvement etc.) over unique or controversial situations or problems that have an important or major impact in the programs of the organization and the Business Units. This includes the exploration of related areas reach definition and selection of problems to research and develop concepts and solutions.

Maintains a link with the individuals and the units within his/her organization with the responsibility of acting independently in the technical aspect and in activities related to his/her area.

Implements goal systems and procedures to ensure that the machines and equipment are properly used and comply with the specifications. Revises the equipment and machinery requirements based on production programs. Determines and guards the implementation of capital requirements for improvement.

Operationally solves equipment manufacture and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent delays in the delivery of NPD identifies equipment and new processes if necessary.

Checks and approves processes specifications and STD designs. Checks and approves changes for documentation.

Practices policies and safety procedures and quality; actively participates in them.

Is responsible for monitoring the financial metrics of the unit for example: CIP Spending Capital.
