Description
7a-7:30p / Part Time / 24 hours
- Directs agency-wide initiatives for pressure ulcer prevention wound care and ostomy care to include supporting pressure ulcer prevalence data collection evidence-based policies procedures and protocols and advisement of appropriate support surfaces products and staff decision-making algorithms.
- Develops and conducts educational programs and clinical instruction for Emory Healthcare staff and students enrolled in Emory Universitys Wound Ostomy Continence Education Program.
- Provides advanced clinical guidance to physicians and nursing staff regarding the management of complex wounds fistulas moisture management and pressure ulcers.
- Determines appropriate nursing interventions for identified patient problems symptoms and teaching needs in respect to wound and ostomy care.
- Recommends the equipment materials and resources needed to successfully implement a wound or ostomy care plan.
- Must meet all Clinical Nurse I Employee Commitments.
- Achieves electives and contact hours as defined in the PLAN (clinical lattice) system to maintain position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) AND Completion of an accredited WOC Nursing Education program
- Two years experience as an RN
- Must have a valid active unencumbered Nursing license approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
- BLS certification
- ACLS may be required in designated departments.
- Must achieve certification in Wound Care and Ostomy Care within 12 months
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Continence Care is not required but preferred.
- Previous experience in Wound and Ostomy care preferred.
