This is a skilled position requiring proficient knowledge of distributed automation systems HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) communication networking computer software and low voltage electrical distribution. The skills required for this position will allow the incumbent to resolve repair issues independently under general supervision. The position will support small midsize and large hospitals critical access hospitals small inpatient/outpatient facilities and clinics. The Building Automation Systems Specialist provides the necessary skill to monitor operate maintain and repair various controls systems. An understanding of programmable controllers sensors VFDs and other control-related devices is essential. Utilizes exceptional customer service and communication skills. This position ensures proper operation of distributed automation
systems controlled systems and provides internal technical support and training to Mercy caregivers.

Position Details:

Minimum Required Qualifications


Education: High School equivalent or 1 year direct relevant experience
Licensure: Valid Drivers License for all Mercy locations
Experience: 2 years working with Building Automation Systems SCADA HVAC Building/Manufacturing Maintenance computer networking electronic systems or low voltage electrical distribution.

Other Skills and Knowledge:


Requires oral and written communication skills to communicate with customers and follow instructions.
Verbal ability required to read and understand technical manuals.
Numerical ability required to make calculations for testing installation measurement estimation and repair of equipment.
Ability to prioritize work assignments conceptualize and formulate finished product.
Form perception is required when measuring and installing parts and equipment.
Spatial ability required to understand forms and relationships when working from blueprints or specifications.
Requires knowledge and use of various computer software such as Outlook and or Nuvolo.
Ability to manage time and materials efficiently. Completes work assignments in a high-quality manner and the lowest cost to Mercy.
Requires exceptional customer service skills and ability to achieve department goals.
Requires general manual dexterity basic math knowledge and mechanical aptitude.
Exposure to extreme temperatures electric shock and loud noise.
Ability to travel to various work sites and a car is provided by Mercy.

Preferred Qualifications


Education: High School Diploma GED and 1-year equivalent credits or certificate in a relevant program.
Experience: 4 years experience working with Building Automation Systems SCADA HVAC Building/Manufacturing Maintenance electronic systems or low voltage electrical distribution.

Certification/Registration: Certified Healthcare Physical Environmental Worker
