Schedule: FullTime 36 hrs/week (0.9 FTE)
Shift: 3/4 Weekend Option FridaySunday 7:00 AM7:00 PM
Weekend Option Differential: Additional $15.00/hr on top of base rate any shift differentials

About the Unit Orthopedics (Ortho Surgical)
The Orthopedics unit cares for postoperative patients recovering from:
- Elective hip and knee replacements
- Spine surgeries (neck and back)
- Foot and ankle procedures
Nurses on this unit strengthen skills in:
- Mobility and ambulation support
- Pain management
- Surgicalsite and orthopedic monitoring
- Rehabilitationfocused patient care
This is an excellent unit for nurses who enjoy handson clinical work strong teamwork and seeing patients gain mobility and independence throughout recovery.
Overview
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission values and mercy service standards.
Qualifications
Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Nursing Diploma
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Licensure:Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.
Experience:Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
Certifications:
- Required:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education:BSN preferred
- Licensure:Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
- Experience:Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push pull and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
- Ability to grip reach bend kneel twist and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
