Dentist (1099)
Pay rate : $150.00 per hour (1099)
Place of Performance: White River Junction VA Medical Center: 163 Veterans Drive White River Junction VT 05001
Hours:Monday Wednesday Thursday Friday 7:00am-5:30pm.
Qualifications:
- Be a licensed practitioner who specializes in dentistry and branch of medicine focused on teeth gums and mouth. Dentists can diagnose prevent manage and treat diseases injuries and malformations of the oral cavity and other aspects of the craniofacial complex.
- Have a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
- Have passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) which are developed and administered by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE). Possess a current full and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the state of Vermont United States.
- Recent employment as a full-time practicing clinical dentist serving diverse adult patient population (recent VA dental clinic experience preferred).
- Have at least three years of creditable experience as a full-time dentist.
- Can prioritize multiple tasks based on deadlines importance and scope of assignments.
- Be self-directed detail-oriented excellent at meeting deadlines with well-developed time management organization and project management skills.
- Have a mastery of oral and written communication skills with proficiency to convey complex information.
- Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of staff from varying backgrounds.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of industry best practices and evidence-based principles.
- Have comprehensive knowledge and skill of clinical terminology Microsoft 365 Office programs and electronic health record systems.
- Must possess a current unrestricted drivers license in the United States and ability to drive a mobile dental clinic (commercial drivers license not required).
Duties:
- Provide comprehensive dental care and perform duties consistent with the laws and regulations governing the dental practice act in the state of their licensure.
- Conduct comprehensive dental examinations diagnosis and treatment planning and ensure that each dental treatment plan considers the Veterans comprehensive patient history.
- Develop and discuss treatment plans with patients based on their needs and preferences using Veteran-centric care models.
- Perform progressive phased dental care (Acute phase Disease Control phase Definitive Treatment phase and Maintenance phase) that could include diagnosis restorative (including dental implants) preventative oral surgery endodontic prosthodontic periodontic and other dental procedures within their scope of licensure and training.
- Stabilize and treat acute dental issues such as infections or trauma.
- Manage post-operative care and provide follow-up dental treatment plans.
- Collaborate with VA dental or medical staff for treatment that cannot be provided in the mobile dental clinic.
