Job Duties:

The Health and Human Performance Department at UW-Superior invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Exercise Science. The qualified applicant will design and facilitate classroom online and/or laboratory instruction within an academic discipline to ensure quality delivery of instruction and integration of content within an academic work unit. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom online and/or laboratory settings including grading. Serves as an instructor of record. Advises students facilitates course assessment and may supervise student employees. Develop a program of scholarly work that informs or contributes to teaching and learning. Provides service as a contributing member of the department and a participant in university and professional service.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Department: Health and Human Performance (HHP)

Full-Time: 100% Tenure-Track Faculty Academic (9-month) ongoing appointment one vacancy

Job Responsibilities:

  • Instruction of 12 credits or their equivalent per semester in HHP/HLTH courses both online and in the classroom/lab.
  • Advisement of HHP Department students.
  • Program development and promotion with adherence to national standards.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with university employees school districts and community partners.
  • Assist with revisions in catalog copy advisement sheets and website.
  • Engage in curriculum planning assessment review and mapping.
  • Engage in scholarship in field(s) of academic expertise.
  • Engage in departmental university and community service.

Other Duties:

  • Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate in Exercise Science Exercise Physiology Health Sciences or related field degree must be conferred by start date.
  • 2 or more years of experience teaching face-to-face courses in exercise science exercise physiology health sciences or related field.
  • 1 or more years of experience teaching courses in exercise science exercise physiology or related field in an online capacity through a learning management system (Canvas Blackboard Moodle etc.)

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 1 or more years of experience with hands-on application of exercise science principles and techniques (lab clinical setting etc.).

Compensation: Salary range for this position is: $56000 - $62000 annually.
