The Opportunity
Adobe is seeking aSenior Machine Learning Architect to help define and deliver the next generation of AI-powered user experiences across Adobe Experience Cloud. This role sits at the intersection ofmachine learning user experience and large-scale UI systems with responsibility for shaping how intelligence is delivered to usersnot just which models are used.
As a senior member of the GenAI Experiences team you willarchitect and evolve the ML systems that power AI-assisted experiences including AI Assistant and related experience surfaces. This includes combining modern GenAI approaches with classical machine learning techniques to deliverresponsive reliable and trustworthy user experiences.
This role is ideal for senior ML engineers who enjoyend-to-end ownership:from user-centric data and modelingto inference pipelines to how intelligence is grounded in real production UIs and evaluated through user behavior.
WhatYoullDo
Build and ship ML-driven capabilities that power AI-assisted user experiences across Adobe Experience Cloud with a strong emphasis onusability trust andproactivity.
Design andarchitectML systemsthat blend multiple approachesincluding LLMs classical ML/NL/IR and heuristicsto solve complex user-facing problems at scale.
Work deeply withuser-centric datasuch aspage and UI structure semantics and state interaction logs UI events behavioral signals andhumanfeedback loops to inform modeling evaluation and iteration.
Apply and evolvenon-GenAI techniqueswhereappropriate including recommendation systems clustering ranking NLP pipelines heterogeneous graph traversal and edge-based or on-device models.
Develop and evolveagentic and reasoning-based systemsthat integrate retrieval context workflows and decisioning in service of grounded high-quality user experiences.
Partner closely with UI engineers designers product managers and researchers to ensure ML capabilities are expressed through intuitive coherent interaction patterns.
Define and own evaluation frameworks that incorporateUX-relevant signalssuch as relevance latency consistencyvisual quality and human feedbacknot just offline accuracy metrics.
Drive system reliability scalability and performance for user-facing ML systems includingreal-time and edge inference experimentation and monitoring understrict latency privacy and compute constraints.
Serve as a senior technical leader and mentor helping shape ML direction and standards across experience-focused teams.
What You Need to Succeed
Bachelors degree with10 yearsof industry experience or Masters/PhD with equivalent experiencebuildingand shipping ML systems at scale.
Strong background inapplied machine learning spanning both modern GenAI techniques and classical ML approaches.
Demonstrated experience architecting ML systems end-to-end from data ingestionand modeling to production deployment and iteration.
Proven success deliveringAI/ML solutions that directlyimpactuser experience engagement or productivity.
Proficiencyin Python and experience with ML frameworks such asPyTorch TensorFlowHuggingFace or equivalent.
Hands-on experience withuser-centric data pipelines experimentation frameworks and production evaluation.
Experience with LLMs retrieval-augmented generation prompt and context engineeringand agent creation/agentic systems.
Strong judgment in selecting therightAI/ML approach for a given problem rather than defaulting to a single technique.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence engineering product and design partners.
A track recordof technical leadership mentorship and shaping ML direction beyond individual projects.
Nice to Have
Experience with on-device / edge ML constraints (latency memory privacy) and/or model optimization for client environments (the roadmap emphasizes client-side models and edge inference & optimization).
Experience building human-in-the-loop systems (annotation feedback calibration explainability interruption management).
Experience building UI and user experience workflows
Experience with React CSS and Nodejs

Expected Pay Range:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $$306625 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge skillsand experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.In California the pay range for this position is $211800 - $306625
At Adobe for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC base commission) and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
