Job Summary
Cedar Park Med is hiring experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for a Critical Care Pediatric Float Pool assignment. This role requires strong acute care nursing skills and the ability to provide high-quality patient care with minimal orientation while floating across inpatient pediatric units including the Bio Behavioral Unit in a medical pediatric nursing capacity (no psychiatric nursing).
Schedule / Shift
Day and Night shift 12-hour shifts 6 shifts per two-week period
Every other weekend required and some holidays
13 week assignment with possible extension
Hiring for both local and traveler positions. Travelers will only be considered if experienced in hospitals of equal or greater size or Level 1 or Level 2 trauma centers. Rates vary based on experience and whether the position is local or traveler.
Required Qualifications
Current New York State RN license/registration
BLS certification (must be able to be re-certified)
Minimum of 1.5 years of recent experience (within the past 2 years) in an acute care facility of similar size and acuity
Two (2) years of experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center
Ability to float to all pediatric inpatient locations
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in pediatric critical care or inpatient pediatric settings
Experience using EPIC Electronic Medical Records
Responsibilities
Perform the majority of patient care skills required in a pediatric acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision
Conduct thorough nursing assessments appropriate to patient acuity and specialty
Deliver safe effective nursing care to pediatric patients across multiple inpatient units
Float to Bio Behavioral Unit in a medical pediatric nursing role (non-psychiatric)
Monitor patient conditions and report changes promptly
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient care
