Overnight Veterinary Technician Assistant ICU (Surgical Specialty Practice)

We are seeking an enthusiastic team-oriented Veterinary Technician Assistant with prior veterinary experience to join our busy surgical specialty practice and provide overnight care for our ICU patients.
Our Annapolis location is housed in a 28000 sq. ft. specialty veterinary facility sharing space with internal medicine cardiology oncology ophthalmology neurology rehabilitation radiation oncology and a 24-hour emergency clinicoffering a dynamic collaborative and high-level medical environment.
This role is ideal for a highly motivated Veterinary Technician Assistant with strong clinical skills who thrives in a fast-paced high-intensity setting and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
Schedule
- Overnight shifts between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
- MondayFriday
- Three 12-hour shifts per week
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the care and monitoring of postoperative and critical surgical patients
- Support RVTs and surgeons in the ICU
- Accurately document patient care using electronic treatment sheets
- Use computers confidently for medical records and communication
- Maintain high standards of patient care communication and teamwork
- Work independently and efficiently during overnight shifts
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of veterinary assistant experience
- Strong patient care and monitoring skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and treatment sheets
- Basic to intermediate computer skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-intensity environment
- Excellent communication time management and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance
Primary Objective
To deliver exceptional ICU patient care for surgical patients at CVSS while supporting a collaborative professional clinical environment.
