Candidate preferred to have at least one year transplant coordinator experience
A transplant coordinator assists in the pre-transplant evaluation as well as the
post-op follow up of transplanted patients as well as their donors. He/she can provide education to the living donor and recipient regarding the transplant process. They are also on-call for organ procurement/donor offers as well as for patient concerns.
Assists in managing the clinical care of the patient or donor in the pre and post-transplant phase of evaluation for organ transplant. Reviews diagnostic tests laboratory work and other pertinent information in clinic and before medical review board. Coordinates care of the patient or donor pre and post-transplant triages calls and assists in medical and medication management.
Educates the patient and/or donor on all aspects of the transplant process.
Prepares and submits all information to UNOSCMSJCAHO insurance companies etc. related to transplant service inquiries.
Performs administrative functions as preparation of QI reports attending meetings and conferences etc. as needed.

Minimum Education:
Required: Bachelors Degree
Specify Degree(s): Nursing
Minimum Experience:
Required: At least 2 years of previous RN experience
Preferred: Previous RN Coord experience
Licensure/Certifications:
Required:
Basic Life Support (CPR)
Nursing - Current Registered Nurse license State of Illinois
Compensation:
Salary Range: $48.14- $63.75 per hour
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience qualifications education location licensure certification requirements and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
