Job Summary:
The Environmental Data Specialist (Data Analyst I) is responsible for managing and validating environmental and waste-related data to ensure regulatory compliance and operational accuracy. This role requires strong attention to detail advanced Excel proficiency and the ability to perform technical regulatory reviews related to waste profiling and shipment tracking.
Location:Salem Virginia United States
Responsibilities:
- Update internal databases and SharePoint site with new recertified and amended waste profiles.
- Upload and maintain current approvals and Notification of Treatment Standards (NTS) documentation.
- Conduct technical regulatory reviews of new amended and recertified waste profile data including DOT (Department of Transportation) RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) Land Disposal Restrictions (Land Ban) and miscellaneous regulatory notes.
- Review data for internal inconsistencies and compliance issues.
- Track shipment data and validate waste tracking documentation.
- Generate and analyze reports using advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely updates.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions preferred).
- Excellent typing and transcription skills with high accuracy and speed.
- Strong data entry experience with demonstrated attention to detail.
- Ability to research collect and validate technical data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational time management and multitasking abilities.
- Must include a basic typing/data entry test result for review.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with RCRA and DOT regulatory compliance.
- Experience in quality assurance or government regulatory environments.
- Experience with hazardous and non-hazardous waste profiling and manifesting.
Special Considerations:
- Pre-assignment and/or pre-hire drug and alcohol testing may be required per customer contract requirements. Testing may include Urinalysis Oral swab Hair follicle drug testing and Alcohol testing.
