Job Summary:
The Cath Lab Tech functioning as a Registered Nurse provides skilled nursing care within the Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Lab. This role involves patient assessment medication administration assisting with cardiac catheterization procedures and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. The position requires at least two years of experience and the ability to respond to call-back within 30 minutes.

Responsibilities:
- Accurate patient monitoring during procedures.
- Setting up and operating equipment.
- Performing EKG lead placement.
- Preparing access sites for procedures.
- Recognizing and responding to life-threatening arrhythmias.
- Functioning as a room circulator.
- Maintaining a sterile field as a scrub.
- Utilizing Vascular Closure Systems (Perclose StarClose).
- Medication administration.
- Treatment planning.
- Collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of working.
- Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting.
- Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab experience.
- Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab experience.
- Cardiac Stent Placement skills.
- Diagnostic Catheterizations Adult skills.
- IABP Placement/Removal skills.
- Impella insertion skills.
- Left heart catheterization skills.
- Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI) skills.
- Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA) skills.
- Right heart catheterization skills.
- Rotablader athrectomy skills.
- Temporary Pacemaker skills.
- Ventricular Assist Device Insertion skills.
- Fluoroscopy skills.
- Accurate monitoring skills.
- Equipment set up skills.

Special Considerations:
- Call is required typically 6 evenings and one weekend per 6 weeks.
- Must respond within 30 minutes of call back.
Scheduling:
- Typically one weekend per 6 weeks on stand by.
