Testing Tech
The office of Eye Physicians of Central Florida a division of Florida Pediatric Associates is looking for a Testing Tech to join their team.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Two years experience as an ophthalmic assistant in ophthalmology or optometry setting.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific:
  • Interact with all patients using the level of respect and professionalism required by this practice.
  • Maintain stock levels and cleanliness of exam lanes.
  • Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the physician altering the test sequence as required.
  • Escort patients from the clinical area to the check-out station or optical dispensary when necessary.
  • Perform all areas of special testing including but not limited to: visual fields OCT fundus photos macular photos automated refractometry and pentacam once trained.
  • Seek advice from more senior staff as necessary never performing beyond capabilities.
  • Obtaining phone messages from all extensions at a minimum of three times daily (first thing in the am before lunch and mid afternoon) along with making sure technicians are tending to them in a timely fashion if they are urgent. (messages must be returned within 24-48 hours if not emergent-this duty will be given to a specific technician or multiple technicians)
  • Watch workflow and announce to patients in the waiting area when the doctors are running behind schedule.
  • Load patients that have been worked up and are waiting to see the doctor after dilation.
  • Keep the corkboard at the front desk area up to date. Check on a monthly basis.
  • Answer red lights and assist doctors as much as possible.
  • Check pink biopsy forms to make sure that final results have been received and scanned into patients charts.
  • Call labs for pick up of specimens and help with printing appropriate patient demographics to send to the labs.
  • Maintain testing logs ensuring that all tests were sent to the patient charts correctly.
  • Help close exam rooms at the end of the day.
  • Make sure that all printers have encounters and paper as needed.
  • Put away all supplies as they are delivered.
  • Assist patients with scheduling tests that the Doctors order and referral appointments.
  • Make copies of interoffice forms as needed.
  • Download photos from digital for ML and MW cameras.
  • Check all drops/supplies on adults for expiration.
  • Assigned testing tech to print list of uninterpreted tests and give them to the doctors to finish interpretation.
  • All other duties as assigned
