GENERAL DESCRIPTION:


Enjoy a small-town atmosphere only 100 miles from Denver with no state income tax and an average of 300 days of sunshine each year with nearby access to skiing hiking fishing hunting and other outdoor activities.

The Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) Healthcare Licensing and Surveys seeks to fill the Life Safety Code (LSC) Healthcare Facility Surveyor position. This position is responsible for surveying state-licensed and federally certified healthcare facilities to evaluate and determine compliance with state and federal life safety regulations. The position provides an opportunity to work and travel in Wyoming traveling at least 50% of the time.

This position will be located in Cheyenne or Casper and will be required to work from home in Casper.

Qualifications


PREFERENCES:


Preference will be given to a bachelors degree in a construction-related field or healthcare (fire science engineering or architecture) and at least two years of work experience in the preferred field.

**Must pass required training within 6 months of employment.
**Must have a valid drivers license.
**This position will be located in Cheyenne or Casper and will be required to work from home in Casper**


KNOWLEDGE:


  • Knowledge and comprehension in the application and interpretation of the following codes and standards: NFPA 101 Life Safety Code NFPA 99 Standards for Health care Facilities NFPA 13 Installation of Sprinkler Systems NFPA 70 National Electrical Code NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code.
  • Abilitytointerpretandenforceapplicablecodesregulationsandstandards.
  • Knowledge ofFederalandStaterequirements forcertifying andlicensing healthcare facilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to learn discriminate and make sound decisions.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Bachelors Degree (typically in Healthcare)
Experience:
0-3 years of progressive work experience (typically inHealthcare) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Health Program Specialist
OR
Education & ExperienceSubstitution:
4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Healthcare) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Health Program Specialist
