About the Role

Joining our team in Mandurah you will support a female with disability who accesses our in home and community access services. The person being supported is looking for someone who enjoys talking and can assist her in navigating local areas catching public transport attending appointments and enhancing her independent living skills.

The successful candidate will have a passion for working with people with disability and confidence in working with behaviours of concern and providing personal care if required. You will provide active support through your shared interests in cooking shopping and swimming and will be available to commit to shifts between 9am to 1pm Monday through Thursday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
  • Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
  • Maintain thorough record keeping
  • Build positive relationships with clients families and colleauges
  • Advocate for client choice and control
  • Assist with personal care if required

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with people with disability
  • Previous experience working with behaviour support plans
  • Experience with personal care and manual handling
  • Strong computer and verbal and written communication skills
  • An unrestricted Australian drivers licence
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
