Job Summary

Reports to: Director of Business OperationsGeneral Statement: The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the maintenance and custodial operations for the facility and grounds. The Facilities Coordinator will implement systems policies and procedures to effectively manage the corrective and preventive maintenance programs resulting in a safe and clean environment that meets all federal state and local building codes and regulations. Supervision: The Facilities Coordinator supervises all maintenance and custodial staff and will assist in the annual evaluations of all departmental employees. Performance Responsibilities:1. Make hiring recommendations train supervise and evaluate all shifts of maintenance and custodial staff.2. Maintain an effective work order system to process track and create management reports for all corrective and preventive maintenance requests.3. Recommend cost-efficient contract services and building materials and supplies within the regulations of Massachusetts procurement laws.4. Maintain an inventory system of all supplies and surplus equipment and furnishings.5. Supervise the staffing and coordination for all meetings and events by school groups or outside agencies.6. Create and monitor a comprehensive energy management program to ensure conservation and cost-effective management of all building systems(heating lighting waste management etc).7. Supervise and manage a system to ensure the safe and efficient operation and dispatching of all district vehicles.8. Ensure all building systems and grounds are in compliance with all federal state and local laws and ordinances (AHERA life-safety systems elevator inspections etc).9. Supervise grounds maintenance for all district property and ensure athletic fields are prepared for all sports programs and events.10. Maintain a system and schedule of necessary inspections for the building and its systems.11. Make annual recommendations for the Maintenance Department budget and subsequently manage the departmental budget12. Respond to all building emergencies regardless of time of day. During winter months thecoordinator will coordinate the timely clearing of snow to allow school to open safely each morning.13. Maintain an orderly filing system for all building blue-prints construction documents inspectionresults work orders and other documents.14. Serve as the districts Right to Know Officer and supervise the system to maintain all MaterialSafety Data Sheets (MSDS).15. Collaborate in helping to develop training programs and organize periodic workshops fordepartmental staff.16. Devise a communications plan to ensure effective communication among all shifts of departmental staff and the school community at-large.17. Work effectively with all district staff and serve on various ad-hoc or standing committees (SafetyCommittee IAC etc.).18. Serve as a liaison to the district Building Committee for major repair/renovation projects.19. All other duties or function-related responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent-Directorand/or Director of Business & Evaluation: The coordinators compensation and benefits will be set annually basedupon performance and the annual evaluation
