THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE TN
JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Medical Technical Assistant 1 (CMA) provides nursing support for OB/GYN nurse practitioners and resident physicians in Graduate Medical Education outpatient setting.
Responsibilities- Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary equipment and supplies and assists physicians and nurse practitioners with procedures.
- Stands in as chaperon when appropriate.
- Obtains vitals and brief health history escorts patient to the exam room enters quality data into electronic medical record and administers intramuscular and subcutaneous injections per orders.
- Assists with coding and billing.
- Assists with sending lab orders.
- Performs telephone triage as needed following established protocols.
- Schedules referrals to specialists as needed.
- Performs duties as assigned.
QualificationsEDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED.(TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Six (6) months of work experience in outpatient medicine. Must maintain CPR certification. (Experience with Obstetrical and Internal Medicine is preferred.)
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: CMA CCMA. Must be Certified or Registered (Medical Assistant) in Tennessee.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of EMR systems.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to effectively prioritize and manage time.
WORK SCHEDULE:This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings.
