As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Digital Channels team you are part of an agile team that works to enhance design and deliver the software components of the firms state-of-the-art technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team you execute software solutions through the design development and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product application or system while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
In this role you will ensure the quality security and accessibility of our cloud-native financial platforms with a focus on client onboarding and regulatory compliance. You will design implement and maintain comprehensive automated testing solutions collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust secure and user-friendly applications.
Job responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain automated test suites for microservices and web applications
- Implement and execute performance load and stress tests using automation tools to ensure system scalability and reliability.
- Test database interactions data integrity in PostgreSQL or any relational database.
- Monitor analyze and validate application logs and metrics using Splunk to identify issues and verify test outcomes.
- Utilize defect management tools (e.g. JIRA Quality Center) to track report and manage bugs throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain test data management strategies to support complex onboarding scenarios and regulatory requirements.
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2 years applied experience
- Experience in software quality testing of cloud-native applications
- Hands-on experience with JMeter Bruno and other automation and performance testing tools.
- Proficiency in API testing tools (e.g. Postman RestAssured SoapUI).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests (Spinnaker Jenkins GitLab).
- Experience with defect management tools (e.g. JIRA).
- Ability to analyze logs and monitor applications using Splunk.
- Basic knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL).
- Experience with test data management and data validation.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into effective test cases and automation scripts.
