Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) Telemetry is responsible for delivering safe high-quality patient-centered nursing care in a telemetry setting. This role involves continuous cardiac monitoring assessment planning implementation and evaluation of patient care in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
Assess patient conditions and assist physicians with clinical care delivery
Plan implement and document nursing care based on individual patient needs
Identify patient priorities through assessment planning intervention and evaluation
Develop implement and coordinate individualized plans of care
Initiate assessments based on patient conditions physician diagnoses and functional health frameworks
Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage assigned patient care
Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to telemetry changes
Document patient care in accordance with standards of practice acuity and clinical priorities
Advocate for and support evidence-based nursing practices and innovations in care delivery
Provide patient-centered care aligned with professional nursing practice models
Float to other Medical-Surgical or Telemetry units as required
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Experience
Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry nursing experience
Education
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) Required
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing Required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
Licensure & Certifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state or multi-state compact)
BLS (AHA) Required
ACLS Required
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Required
Telemetry Certification or Telemetry Competency Exam Required
Stroke CEU (4 contact hours) Required
Technical Skills
Telemetry rhythm interpretation and monitoring
EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience Required
