Job Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions

This is a peer-level individual contributor with operational accountability not people management.

  • Key Responsibilities
    • E-Commerce Platform Management
      • Enter update and maintain product listings in The Assistant Manager (TAM) and Circuitree ensuring accuracy in:
        • Product names and descriptions
        • Pricing and promotions
        • Inventory levels and availability
        • SKUs categories and attributes
      • Coordinate product launches updates and removals across both platforms to ensure consistency.
      • Ensure that pre-purchased items on Circuitree are correctly configured for Space Camp sessions dates and fulfillment workflows.
    • Data Accuracy & Quality Control
      • Perform routine audits of product data to identify and correct errors or discrepancies.
      • Ensure alignment between e-commerce platforms point-of-sale systems and physical inventory.
      • Maintain clear documentation of processes product standards and system workflows.
    • Sales Reporting & Analysis
      • Generate regular and ad-hoc sales reports from TAM and Circuitree.
      • Track key metrics such as:
        • Top-selling items
        • Seasonal and camp-session trends
        • Sell-through rates and inventory performance
      • Provide insights and recommendations to retail leadership to support merchandising purchasing and promotional decisions.
    • Troubleshooting & Operational Support
      • Serve as a first point of contact for e-commerce system issues including:
        • Product setup errors
        • Ordering or checkout issues
        • Reporting inconsistencies
      • Work with internal teams and external vendors to resolve platform or data-related problems.
      • Support fulfillment teams by ensuring e-commerce data supports accurate and timely order preparation.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration
      • Collaborate with:
        • Retail managers and buyers on product selection and pricing
        • Fulfillment and warehouse teams on pre-arrival orders
        • Marketing or communications teams on promotions and featured products
        • Support peak periods (camp sessions holidays special events) with heightened attention to system readiness and data accuracy.
  • Required Qualifications
    • Experience in e-commerce operations retail systems or inventory management.
    • Strong data entry skills with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Comfort working in multiple software platforms and learning proprietary systems.
    • Intermediate proficiency with spreadsheets and reporting tools (Excel or Google Sheets).
    • Ability to analyze sales data and communicate findings clearly.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot operational issues independently.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Experience in creative/business writing.
    • A logical streamlined and thorough approach to completing tasks and projects.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with The Assistant Manager (TAM) Circuitree or similar retail/e-commerce platforms.
    • Experience supporting online sales tied to in-person fulfillment or event-based retail.
    • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory reconciliation.
    • Prior experience in museum attraction camp or destination retail environments.
    • An interest in space science education or mission-driven organizations.
  • Work Environment & Physical Requirement
    • Primarily office-based with regular interaction with retail and fulfillment areas.
    • May require occasional standing walking or lifting of light merchandise.
    • Must be available to support peak operational periods including camp sessions and major events.
  • Why This Role Matters
  • This position directly impacts the experience of Space Camp trainees and guests by ensuring that merchandise they select online is accurate available and ready when they arrive. The E-Commerce Operations Specialist helps turn online purchases into smooth memorable momentssupporting both revenue growth and guest satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education College degree or experiential equivalent.

Required Experience This is a will-train role with no experience required provided the candidate has related collegiate experience and thorough computer skills.

Physical & Work Requirements

This position has the following special requirements:

  • Prolonged sitting at a desk while working on a computer including keyboarding and mouse use for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for data entry system navigation and handling small merchandise items (for example SKUs tags samples).
  • Ability to view computer screens for extended periods to review product listings reports inventory data and dashboards.
  • Occasional standing and walking within office retail and fulfillment areas.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of retail merchandise boxes or samples typically weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to bend reach and stoop occasionally to access shelves storage areas or inventory locations.
  • Ability to work in mixed environments including office settings retail floor areas and stock/fulfillment spaces that may be crowded busy or subject to seasonal temperature variation.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to collaborate with team members vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Capacity to focus and shift attention between detailed computer-based work and operational problem-solving in a dynamic retail environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Environmental Factors

This job involves working in a climate-controlled office with others. Occasionally this role requires walking to visit outdoor areas areas with children and warehouses exposed to the elements.

Expected Hours of Work

Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
