Role purpose
To produce and promote timely and engaging multimedia content for media and social media channels ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and maintaining high ethical standards and safeguarding throughout the content production process to support Save the Childrens engagement and impact initiatives.
Job Title: Global Senior News Content Producer (Maternity Cover)

Work Pattern: Hybrid/Remote with flexible working options available
Contract Length: Fixed Term Contract for 12 months (maternity cover)

Principal Accountabilities
- Produce timely first-to-market multimedia content to support media packages and social media channels partnering with the Global Media and Digital teams to drive engagement aligning with organisational priorities.
- Manage the end-to-end production process of multimedia content for media ensuring high ethical standards and safeguarding from trip planning through to post-production and dissemination.
- Collaborate with the Global Story Gathering Lead and Country Office colleagues to commission and produce diverse multimedia assets including b-roll photography vlogs and audio packages for international media and social channels and pitch to media.
- Consult with Global Digital Engagement colleagues and Global Media Team to develop series of social assets where relevant supporting the Global Social Media Strategy and engaging priority audiences.
- Follow and ride the news cycle working with the Global Media Unit daily and work with the Global Creative Content and Brand teams Story Telling Unit to deliver timely content for major humanitarian emergencies and global media and cultural moments ensuring cross-team alignment with planning and delivery of cohesive packages.
- Work as part of a shared pool of resource in the Global Creative Content and Brand team able to pivot to organisational priorities.
- Be available for out-of-hours work with the ability to be on call over a weekend roster managing emergency and urgent situations ensuring responsive and effective content production and dissemination.
Experience and Skills
Essential
- Journalistic Acumen and News Content Production
- Foundation of Experience: Proven experience in journalism in a multimedia or digital storytelling environment or working with media. Ability to quickly generate content in response to emerging news and global events understanding differences in social media platforms and their role in digital storytelling
- Proficient Experience: Strong ability to identify and create compelling narratives quickly as news breaks.
- Considerable Experience: Exceptional editorial judgement and news sense with an understanding of global media and humanitarian landscapes.
- Ability to monitor news cycles spot rising trends and liaise effectively with other teams for timely content alignment and delivery during major humanitarian emergencies and media moments.
2. Multimedia Content Production processing
- Foundation of Experience: Proficiency in processing raw video photo and audio content with Adobe Creative Suite or similar including editing video packages (B-rolls) image selection managing translations and sign-off process uploading to Save the Childrens DAM System (Content Hub) with correct metadata.
- Proficient Experience: Experienced in identifying and solving ethical and safeguarding challenges during the production of content to deliver content that can be used by all markets despite varying sensitivities and laws.
- Considerable Experience: Expertise in delivering in-depth full case study packages writing up interviews and overviews into engaging stories delivering targeted b-rolls image galleries key quotes identifying hero stories linking package with impact and ensuring follow-ups.

- Foundation of Experience: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with various stakeholders including the Global Media Digital teams and Country Office colleagues.
- Proficient Experience: Experience in managing cross-team projects ensuring cohesive and well-timed content delivery.
- Considerable Experience: Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships within and outside the organisation valuing diversity as a source of strength.
4. Project Management
- Foundation of Experience: Basic project management skills including planning executing and closing projects.
- Proficient Experience: Experienced in managing multiple projects simultaneously ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to high ethical and safeguarding standards.
- Considerable Experience: Advanced project management skills to manage the end-to-end production of multimedia content from conceptualisation to dissemination.

- Foundation of Experience: Understanding of ethical considerations in content production including storytelling that respects the dignity and rights of children and vulnerable populations.
- Proficient Experience: Commitment to upholding and implementing safeguarding policies in all aspects of content creation and dissemination.

Education and Qualifications
Essential
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject or equivalent proven work experience.
- Adobe: Premiere Pro Indesign Photoshop Lightroom
- Canva
- Experience of working on breaking news and in a news environment
- Digital Asset Management experience
- Excellent level of English with courses in or examples of news writing
Desirable
- Additional language skills particularly Arabic can be beneficial.
