Leidos Defense Systems Mechanical Design & Analysis Departmentis seeking a Military Trailer and Shelter Mechanical Design Lead to join our team in Huntsville Alabama designing the next generation of sensors to protect America and its allies. You will lead the mechanical design of the Affordable Long-range Persistent Surveillance-AF product. You will lead a design team that uses Solidworks CAD software and Windchill PLM software daily to turn ideas into designs. Then youll work alongside the production team to turn your designs into hardware. You might be asked to help integrate and install the hardware and then youll work with the testing team to put your hardware into action. You will own the technical cost and schedule requirements of your teams design. This is not your average engineering position. You will work on a team of the most talented engineers in the region who push you to be better every day. THE CHALLENGE (primary responsibilities)
Lead a team of mechanical engineers to close on a design solution that meets technical cost and schedule requirements.
Structural design viaSolidworksCADsoftware drawing generationin accordance withASME Y14.100 & Y14.5 and producing technical data packagesin accordance withMIL-STD-31000
WHAT SETS YOU APART (basic qualifications)
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical EngineeringorAerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
8 years of applicable experience or6 years with MS degree.
Experience leading a team ofmechanicalengineers to develop solutions that meet technical cost and schedule requirements
Strong SolidWorks user
Strong desireto lead guide and mentor
Active secret security clearance or ability to obtain andmaintainsecret securityclearance
Preferred Qualifications
Windchill PLMexperience
Design and/or Integration experience in the following areas:
Power generation
Tactical shelterdesign
Telecommunication towers
Mobile tactical equipment
Tactical trailers

Pay Range $107900.00 - $195050.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
