At the City of Redmond youll have the chance to grow professionally while making a meaningful difference in your community. Camp programs run from June 22 August 28 2026 with exact weeks varying depending on your camp assignment.


Paid training will take place on Saturday June 6 (Farrel-McWhirter Park) and from June 8-12 2026 (all camps). Attendance at training is mandatory and we encourage you to apply if youre able to participate in these training dates! Applications will be reviewed and considered as they are received.

Note: There will be no camps on July 3 2026.

Hours: This is a supplemental seasonal position. Pending role schedule assignmentetc. can work up to 40 hours per week. Typical camp schedules are (9am-4pm) Some weekend work may be required.

Locations: Camps are held in various locations around the City of Redmond including Farrel-McWhirter Farm Grass Lawn Park Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village and Redmond Senior and Community Center

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan organize and implement camp activities including but not limited to arts & crafts science experiments sports organized games songs nature walks and storytelling.
  • Be actively involved with children and engaged in recreational activities at all times.
  • Work closely with others in an enthusiastic cooperative and supportive manner.
  • Set boundaries and enforce good decision making.
  • Perform emergency First Aid and CPR as needed and according to established guidelines providing for the proper safety of participants in recreational programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Note: Some positions may include driving a 15-passenger van.

Day Camp Counselor

  • Work as part of a team in an indoor/outdoor setting with children ages 6-15.
  • Minimum of16 years of age.
  • Positions available at Farrel-McWhirter Park the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village and other locations in Redmond.

Day Camp Director

  • Oversee Day Camps.
  • Additional duties include planning daily activities assisting with training and scheduling of staff and volunteers. Organizing and purchasing supplies holding weekly staff meetings covering staff lunch breaks subbing for camp staff as needed managing paperwork including reporting incidents communicating with participants parents and staff assisting with administrative duties in the office and other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Position available at the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village

Assistant Day Camp Director

  • Assist with overseeing Day Camps.
  • Additional duties include planning daily activities assisting with training and scheduling of staff and volunteers. Organizing and purchasing supplies holding weekly staff meetings covering staff lunch breaks subbing for camp staff as needed managing paperwork including reporting incidents communicating with participants parents and staff assisting with administrative duties in the office and other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Position available at the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village

Inclusion Specialist

  • Work with children with disabilities ages 4 15 by offering support and making program modifications to integrate participants into traditional day camp settings.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities preferred.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age must have a current drivers license an insurable driving record and be able to provide your own reliable transportation from one site to another throughout the greater Redmond area.

Substitute

  • Assist as needed on an on-call basis throughout the summer.
  • Must have a current drivers license an insurable driving record and be able to provide your own reliable transportation from one site to another throughout the greater Redmond area.


Full and part-time supplemental positions are available and range from 8 to 11-week assignments.

Please note: All positions are dependent on programs meeting minimum enrollment. If programs are canceled staff will not be scheduled to work.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 16 years of age by starting date
  • Education or training in recreation area directly related to specific position or program
  • Experience in a lead or supervisory capacity preferred
  • Successful passing of a required background check

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid WA State Drivers license required. Accommodations for lack of drivers license may be considered depending on the assignment or circumstances.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Some positions may require special licenses certifications or training
