What Youll Do

As a Senior Cost Accountant youll support the integrity of financial reporting while providing insight into manufacturing and project performance.

Cost & Project Accounting (40%)

  • Maintain and update standard costs BOMs and labor/overhead rates

  • Manage and reconcile Work-in-Progress (WIP) balances

  • Analyze margins variances and cost drivers

  • Support inventory valuation cycle counts and physical inventories

  • Partner with operations and project managers to resolve discrepancies

General Accounting & Close (30%)

  • Prepare journal entries accruals and deferrals in accordance with GAAP

  • Perform monthly reconciliations (inventory WIP leases prepaids accruals)

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes

  • Assist with audit schedules and documentation

Budgeting & Forecasting (20%)

  • Support annual budgeting and rolling forecasts

  • Provide cost and WIP inputs for planning assumptions

  • Deliver variance analysis with clear commentary for leadership

Ad Hoc Analysis & Process Improvement (10%)

  • Develop financial and operational reporting for management

  • Support ERP and data improvement initiatives

  • Participate in special projects and cross-functional improvements

What Were Looking For

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)

  • 26 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in cost/manufacturing or project accounting

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles

  • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor SAP NetSuite or similar)

  • Advanced Excel skills (Power Query pivots lookups modeling)

  • Detail-oriented analytical and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally
