Job Duties
Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist provides medications to patients18 and older in support of ESHs Vision Mission and Values. Responsible for filling medication cassettes providing support to dispensing section conducting the assigned monthly medication storage site inspections on nursing units and/or clinics and performing unit dose prepackaging. These tasks are accomplished by maintaining precise patient records to assure timely and accurate receipt of medication in the assigned unit in compliance with Hospital policies and procedures as well as compliance with State and Federal law.
Successful candidate should possess:
Knowledgeable of general pharmacy procedures.
Knowledgeable in regard to Medicare Part D and Medicaid third party drug plans.
Ability to prioritize and work as a team member.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Minimum Qualifications
Current Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required.
Pharmacy Technician ACPE approved continuing education certificates of 5 credit hours for calendar year 2025.
Considerable experience working as a Pharmacy Technician.
Experience utilizing pharmacy computer systems / programs and Microsoft Office Suite to include email application.
Current valid unrestricted drivers license is required.
Additional Considerations
College level courses in mathematics / science is preferred.
