Job Summary
The Aftercare Worker supports the school community by providing safe nurturing and engaging after-school care for students. This role plays a vital part in the daily lives of families and children ensuring a structured and caring environment during after-school hours. Ideal candidates are dependable patient and genuinely enjoy working with children.
Job Responsibilities
Supervise and engage a designated group of children during aftercare hours
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in the program
Lead and participate in age-appropriate games activities and quiet time
Maintain a calm respectful and structured environment
Assist with snack time clean-up and transitions between activities
Report any behavioral or safety concerns to the Aftercare Coordinator or school leadership
Maintain daily attendance and accurate records for assigned group
Foster positive relationships with students parents and fellow staff
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education or child development preferred
Experience working with children in a school daycare or camp setting is a plus
Ability to manage groups of children calmly and effectively
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience reliability and a caring demeanor
