Job Summary

Pharmacy TechnicianPride Health is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for one of its clients in is a 3-month contract with a possible extension with competitive pay and Title: Pharmacy Technician Location: Austin TX - 78717Pay range: $28 - $32 per hour (Depending upon relevant experience)Duration: 3 months (possibility of extension) Shift: 9 pm to 7:30 am (days are variable) - 7 on 7 Summary Assist the pharmacist in the preparation related to the repackaging and compounding filling and delivery of medications and other tasks associated with dispensing in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-adult). This role also assists in the procurement record-keeping storage and distribution of all controlled DutiesAssists the pharmacist in ensuring the appropriateness of all medication doses by correctly entering the patients diagnosis weight allergies and body surface area in the aseptic technique and infection control in the preparation of sterile products. Completes annual recertification and scores at least 90% on the aseptic technique/infection control skills and written exam as documented by a qualified observer. Insists that other technicians and pharmacists practice aseptic techniques and infection the medications prepared are correct as verified by the pharmacist and as documented by a lack of dispensing competence at batch/medication/prescription order with Pharmacy Support Services personnel to maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies. Follows procedures established for stock replacement. Follows nonformulary pharmacist initial/final checks and assigns dilution and expiration dating labels to medications according to department and Experience: Required- RPHT-TX - Reg Pharmacy Technician - TX State Board of Pharmacy or PHAR INT - Pharmacy Intern State Board of MUST have IV certification and recent clean room experience. Preferred- CPHT - Cert-Pharm. TECH Certification Pharmacy Technician Certification of current hospital and departmental standards for the handling of have math skills reading skills and good communication skills.
