The Role
The ABC is looking for a Senior Producer to provide strong editorialleadership and guidance to theRadio National Breakfastteam to deliver a compelling contemporary and entertaining daily radio program.
The Job
- Working alongside the Executive Producer assist in leading and managing the Radio National Breakfast team to deliver an agenda-setting daily radio news and current affairs program.
- Under broad direction of the Executive Producer take a highly creative approach to editorial planning generating original story ideas breaking news agenda-setting angles and fresh talent with a diversity of perspectives while maintaining the highest editorial standards.
- Write and produce well researched sophisticated and comprehensive briefs that engage and inform the audience.
- Help to manage the program team and provide constructive feedback to guide develop and encourage colleagues.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with a high-profile presenter and help to manage relationships with contributors.
- Generate stories that are relevant to a broad section of Australians and reflect the culturalgeographicand socio-economic diversity of the country.
- Actively engage with communities in Australias outer suburbs to find and tell stories that are relevant for them and in line with the News strategy.

About You
Youll have:
- Proven capacity to design and produce a compelling contemporary and entertaining daily radio program that meets the needs and interests of the target audience.
- High level editorial skills with an excellent news sense and a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of domestic and international issues and debates from politics to economics to business and the arts.
- Highly advanced ability to produce sophisticated and comprehensive briefs on complex topics.
- Proven ability to manage and develop team members to produce outstanding quality work to tight deadlines.
- Proven ability tohandle pressure and work to tight deadlines in a live radio environment.
- Highly advanced organisational and communication skills experience with managing multiple program stakeholders including presenter guests and technical staff.
