Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience in heating-ventilation-air conditioning (HVAC) refrigeration maintenance and repair duties.
- Completion of an air conditioning (AC) certification and/or continuing education program.
- Valid Florida drivers license.
- Type I & Type II CFR certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification to handle refrigerants
- NATE Residential Heating and Air Conditioning certificate.
- Light Commercial Heating and Air Conditioning certificate.
- Four (4) years of experience in the Indoor Air Quality and Food Equipment trade.
Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; organizational and management skills.
- Knowledge of pertinent regulations policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA Public Records Sunshine Law FERPA and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy public information and records retention.
- Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment materials practices computers and applications.
- Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities
- Lay out work estimate costs and requisition materials for assigned work orders.
- Repair rebuild and maintain all types of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
- Work with stockroom personnel to ensure adequate supply of replacement parts for necessary repairs.
- Comply with applicable safety regulations and procedures.
- Maintain clean and conduct routine preventative maintenance on air conditioning equipment.
- Utilize basic District computer applications for communication training and record keeping.
- Assist in the instruction of personnel on specific tasks when required.
- Service and maintain all pumps related to HVAC equipment.
- Fabricate parts and equipment for HVAC equipment when needed.
- Log and review warranty data.
