Are you passionate about helping students take the next step in their academic journey Indian River State College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Admissions Counselor to guide prospective students through the admissions process and support them in achieving their educational this role youll manage a caseload of prospective students provide personalized guidance on choosing a major and help applicants navigate and complete admissions and onboarding requirements. Youll also play a key part in college recruitment initiatives working closely with academic departments the Recruitment Coordinator and Campus Directors to increase enrollment and connect students with the opportunities Indian River State College has to offer.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision this position is responsible for driving student recruitment and enrollment. Manages a caseload of prospective students leads recruitment efforts within assigned territories and provides personalized admissions support through to academic handoff. Works closely with campus teams to ensure coverage for events and contributes to training and development across the recruitment team.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruitment & Outreach:

  • Lead territory-based recruitment efforts through high school visits college fairs and campus events.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with counselors community partners and external organizations. Represent the college at public engagements to promote enrollment when asked.

Admissions Processing:

  • Interview with new students provide career advisement assist students with the full admissions process and review student applications for admission.
  • Provide guidance on admissions requirements financial aid and possible scholarships.
  • Use CRM/SIS systems to track document and communicate with prospective students using the provided contact strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of proven work experience with student recruitment enrollment and/or retention initiatives in a post-secondary educational setting.
  • Proven knowledge and skill in higher education student services including admissions and registration procedures.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and student information platforms.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with students and provide accurate and sound academic and career advice.
  • Strong communication organizational technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Skilled in handling confidential records with discretion.
  • Valid drivers license or mode of transport
  • Requires frequent travel within assigned territory; required
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 30 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying files ledgers. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.

While primarily office-based the role may occasionally involve outdoor activities
