The Technician Visual Components is responsible for the operation and maintenance of massive optics fabrication equipment for production of optical components.
Highschool Diploma or GED plus 2 years experience in a comparable manufacturing position or in a directly related trade i.e. machinist welder electrician equipment mechanic tele-communication installer etc. Or minimum 2 years experience as an Entry Level Optics Manufacturing Technician plus must satisfactorily demonstrate mastery of job specific skills to his/her supervisor.
CERTIFICATES LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Drivers License. Forklift Certification.
Hands on mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills
Hands on welding machining electrical carpentry.
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Basic PC and Office equipment.
Electronic or mechanical test equipment including calipers micrometers digital meters and o-scopes.
Welding machining wood working etc.
Able to operate a forklift.
Ability to wear protective gear (PPE) including respirator.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Fluency in English through both verbal and written communications.
Able to read and interpret documents.
Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions percentages area circumference and volume.
Able to apply concepts of basic algebra.
