Lawrence Hall is a Chicago-based nonprofit social services agency that provides therapeutic wellness and skill development services to youth families and neighborhoods affected by lasting trauma. We foster healing and growth through empowerment respect safety and teamwork.
Our Child & Family Treatment Center (CFTC) is a 24-hour residential program for DCFS- and ISBE-referred youth ages 8-18 who are experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges. With a trauma-informed outcomes-driven approach we help youth heal from abuse neglect and trauma while building the skills they need to thrive.
About the Role
Youth Treatment Specialists are the core of the this role youll provide supervision structure and daily support to youth living in our residential program. Youll mentor youth teach coping and life skills and work as part of a multidisciplinary team to carry out individualized treatment plans. Your daily presence and guidance are essential in helping youth manage emotions build positive relationships and prepare for a successful transition back to family or community. This role is ideal for someone who is steady empathetic and ready to make a direct impact in the lives of youth navigating complex challenges.
What Youll Do
- Provide direct supervision and maintain a safe supportive environment for up to 8 youth.
- Implement interventions and strategies from individualized treatment plans.
- Co-facilitate psycho-educational and life skills groups.
- Model positive behaviors communication and coping skills.
- Support daily routines including hygiene meals activities and transportation.
- Accurately document services provided to meet Medicaid and licensing standards.
- Transport youth to school appointments and community activities.
Who were looking for
Required:
- HS or GED and 0-1 years of relevant experience
- Valid Illinois drivers license and ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Bachelors degree or 5 years of experience working with youth in similar settings.
- Experience working with youth and families impacted by trauma.
- Knowledge of adolescent development and trauma-informed practices.

This is a full-time on-site role located at our Francisco campus at 4833 N Francisco Ave Chicago IL 60625. Available shift options include:
- Shift 1: Wed 11a-5p Thu 1p-11p Fri 1p-11p Sun 9a-11p
- Shift 2: Mon 3p-11p Tue 4p-11p Wed 11a-10p Sat 9a-11p
- Shift 3: Mon 1p-9p Tue 1p-9p Wed 11a-9p Sat 9a-11p
This work requires safe use of verbal and physical intervention techniques when necessary exposure to youth with complex mental health needs and challenging behaviors the ability to obtain and maintain certifications in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) CPR and First Aid and the physical ability to kneel and return to standing and to safely intervene when necessary.
