Job Title: Patient Care Associate Med/Surg
Location: New York NY 10016
Contract Duration: 14 Weeks
Schedule
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Support
Obtain and document vital signs; measure height and weight; collect and process specimens
Perform vision and hearing screenings and basic urinalysis
Conduct venipuncture and fingerstick blood collection for laboratory testing
Perform basic specimen screening (dipstick hemoccult) and prepare specimens for lab pickup
Operate EKG/ECG equipment to record cardiac activity
Provide emergency care including Basic Life Support (BLS)
Deliver basic first aid such as wound care dressing changes ear irrigation and bandaging
Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during clinical procedures
Clean sterilize and prepare examination rooms and medical instruments
Patient Interaction & Documentation
Conduct routine patient interviews and obtain medical history
Educate patients on preparation for tests and procedures
Communicate patient observations to licensed clinical staff
Respond to routine patient inquiries in person or by phone and provide appropriate referrals
Educate patients and families on available healthcare services and healthy lifestyle practices
Accurately maintain and file patient charts and documentation
Administrative & Operational Support
Schedule and reschedule appointments using electronic and/or manual systems
Enter and update patient data in hospital information systems
Monitor and maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment
Escort patients to other departments or locations as needed
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Assist with orientation and training of new staff members
Required Skills & Experience
Education Requirements
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of a Phlebotomy training program with hands-on experience (online-only programs not accepted)
Completion of an EKG/ECG training program with hands-on experience (online-only programs not accepted)
Certifications

Phlebotomy Certification
EKG/ECG Certification
