Job Description:

Summary:

The MSL is a field-based professional with scientific clinical and therapeutic area expertise who is responsible for supporting on a non-promotional basis medical and scientific initiatives for marketed and pipeline products. The MSL works in coordination with the rest of the medical unit to meet the medical department objectives. He/she participates in the identification of local opportunities using his/her network of contacts knowledge of therapeutic areas and health characteristics of the population in each area. Consequently the MSL has responsibility in the development and implementation of the scientific activities and the clinical plan.

Main Responsibilities:

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant scientific information

Proactively provide fair balanced and transparent medical and scientific exchange in disease area management in accordance with applicable laws

Identify current and potential sources of clinical and scientific expertise (known experts rising stars investigators etc.). Develop and maintain academic conversation with TLs in disease area and collect insights of interested questions.

Identify need for scientific information in disease area and therapy of individual TLs/HCPs

Organize medical activities and invite appropriately qualified speakers and HCP participation in Ipsen sponsored activities.

Provide support in clinical research studies and follow local HCP interactive requirements.

Proactively support HCPs and Ipsen Clinical Operations Departments in evaluating potential clinical research sites and investigators for Ipsen-Sponsored Studies.

Support internal medical review and facilitate processing of unsolicited Investigator-initiated Study (IIS) requests

Act as trainer/speaker in internal training of disease area and product knowledge training to commercial team.

Any other projects/activities delegated from manager.

Education and Experience:

Biomedical clinical scientific University education ideally to post-graduate degree level or above -e.g. MSc PhD MD PharmD

Over 1 years experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry or clinical practice experience. MSL experience is preferred.

For senior msl position candidate must have at least 2 year field MSL experience with good understanding in medical strategy TL insights collection and other excellent execution performance.

Oncology/Endocrinology/Pediatric related background is preferred (depend on responsible area)

Working knowledge of the relevant Code of Practice
