Your opportunity

Join our Responsibility Team which drives our firms Responsibility strategy including corporate responsibility ESG integration across our portfolio suite and the development of JHI Brighter Future Funds for clients seeking purposeful investment. The team is split mainly between London and Denver. The Public Affairs team sits within Responsibility and proactively navigates a dynamic policy landscape affecting the breadth of our business.

In this role you will support the Public Affairs team in shaping and achieving regulatory objectives for the firm and managing associated relationships and communications with internal and external stakeholders. You will collaborate closely with the entire Responsibility Team and partner with multiple departments including Compliance Risk Legal Product Investments and Client Group.

  • Solicit input across the firm to identify potential regulatory and policy priorities and areas of focus for Public Affairs across jurisdictions (e.g. EU UK APAC and the US).
  • Determine optimal mechanisms for achieving objectives such as responding to regulatory consultations drafting public commentary and liaising with industry bodies
  • Draft position papers commentary and other documents for submission to regulators and develop and deliver high-quality presentations to communicate regulatory issues clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Support Business Resilience by designing and coordinating crisis communication plans with internal and external stakeholders in partnership with Internal Communications and Corporate Communications
  • Build strong relationships and maintain effective communication channels across the firm

Must have skills

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to collect organize and interpret complex information.
  • Strong Presentation Skills ability to create compelling PowerPoint presentations and present confidently to stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels building strong relationships and maintaining effective communication channels
  • Excellent communication skills capable of conveying technical information to non-technical audiences clearly and effectivelyboth verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse global team environment.
  • Sound judgment able to distinguish priorities and identify what is most important
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Outlook Teams Word Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice to have skills

  • Understanding of the regulatory lifecycle including consultation rule-making and implementation. Experience in financial services is particularly welcomed.
  • Project management experience either from a public affairs agency or other financial services organization.
